VCRS 'European' Spring 200 & Camcrusher Introductory Trial

On the chilly evening of May 24th 2008, a number of Rover Scout Motorsport members and associates travelled to Yea to participate in Round 2 of the Victorian Club Rally Series - 2008 European Spring 200 which also incorperated the Camcrusher Introductory Novice Trial. The event was run by John Roberts (JR), who ran Opposite Lock last year and has scrutineered for The Lead Foot Challenge 07 & 08.

All participants had a great night with all 14 Novice Cars completing the Course while a number of Rally Cars where forced out.

VCRS Spirng 200 Placings:

  • Brendan Brown & Rachel Hale CCRMIT/HRA Datsun 180B SSS - 12th Overall

  • Gary Howard & Michael Loxton MMSC/MMSC Toyota Celica - 32nd Overall

Camcrusher Novice Placings:

  • Adam Schaap & Robert Graham RSM/RSM  Ford Falcon EA - 7th Overall

  • Bradley Kent & Josh Waterworth RSM/RSM Toyota Corolla "The Apprentice" - 11th Overall

  • Michael Potts & Steven Potts PCCV/VMCI Peugeot 504 - 14th Overall

RSM & associated personnel weren't just in the cars, with a number helping around the traps for the event.

Scrutiny (Trainees): James McEwen, Kevin Adams & Phil 'Chainsaw'
Recovery (Novice): Andrew Head & Brendan Haigh
Road Closures: Travis Campbell, Joh Schaap, Jess Grant, Jess Hall, Jess Jacobs & Mia.

An awesome event and great example of the motorsport pathways now open to all rovers through RSM and CAMS.

Not getting enough?

Then come and try a Rally

Up to 80 to 120 Competitive Km's in one night

Novice Rallies are on:

16th Feb, 22nd March, 24th May & 20th Sept

  • All you need is a registered Car in RWC condition
  • CAMS Licence (already got it for RSM)
  • Helmet (already got it for RSM)
  • Mud Flaps on driving wheels
  • Fire Extinguisher

Welcome to the new Rover Scout Motorsport Website, this is the central hub for all Motorsport Events under the control of Victorian Rovers.

Operated by a core group of people, that oversee the operation of Motorsport in Rovering. Events are operated with RSM to provide affordable access to motorsport at a grass roots level for Victorian Rovers.

Rover Scout Motorsport is affliated with the Confederation Of Australian Motorsport (CAMS), who are the authority when it comes to Motorsport events across the country.
